About this page
This page lists counsellors and therapists with specialist knowledge of trauma related to birth. They have paid to advertise their services. While every effort has been taken to verify the counsellors on these pages, any contact with the people listed is made at your own risk.
How to advertise
If you’d like a listing on our website, you must be accredited with the BACP or a similar professional organisation.
Please email details of your accreditation and the text for your advert (maximum 200 words). To pay, please set up a monthly standing order with your bank of £3 a month, from the 1st of the month. (Most banks now allow you to do this from their website or banking app). Just let us know when you’ve set it up.
If your bank doesn’t allow you to set up a standing order online, please print out the standing order film below, fill it in for £9.00 per quarter, out, scan it in and email it to us.
If you are not able to scan the mandate, then you can post it to the treasurer at this address. If you would like to make an additional donation, you can do so via JustGiving.
Dr Georgina Clifford
I am registered as a clinical psychologist with the Health and Care Profession Council (HCPC), BUPA and AXA PPP Healthcare. Myself and my colleagues offer therapy sessions from our office in central London where you are very welcome to bring your baby with you. I offer a reduced rate for women on maternity leave.
Dr Louisa Casselden
I offer a warm and supportive environment and evidence-based therapeutic interventions for individuals, couples and families who have been affected by issues in the perinatal period.
Butterfly Hugs for Mums – EMDR for Birth Trauma
Our goal is to help new mothers feel calmer, stronger and empowered through evidence-based psychological treatment. We are passionate about making psychological support easily accessible and raising awareness about the psychological impact of birth trauma on new families.

Transitioning into parenthood can be a uniquely personal and challenging experience for anyone. As an Integrative Therapist with an MA in Relationship Therapy, I am able to offer professional insight and help with the healing process.
Victoria Adam
I run my private practice alongside my role in a busy NHS trust where I have delivered psychological therapy and supervision for the past 10 years. I can help you to see yourself as resilient and feel positive about the world around you and your future.
Kirsty Aitkin-Hughes
I am passionate about lifting that burden of carrying birth trauma around, and helping people toward a more peaceful path.
Dr Claire Arnold-Baker
I am an existential therapist with 15 years’ experience of working with a broad range of mental health problems. I specialise in working with mothers, having completed my doctoral research into the transition to motherhood for first-time mothers.
Katrina Ashton
I have been a midwife for 42 years and in the NHS and I am part of our pathway for women who feel traumatised by childbirth.
As a psychotherapist, I offer sessions for women with or without the baby and couples too, as partners are often feel traumatised by the experience of birth.
