zoom drop-ins for dads

When people talk about birth trauma, dads often get left out. But the truth is, it can hit dads hard. Watching your partner go through something traumatic, feeling completely helpless, not being listened to, or worrying about your baby’s safety, all of that stays with you.

fatherhood solutions and the Birth Trauma Association run bi-monthly Zoom drop-ins to give dads a space to talk about what they’ve been through. No pressure, no judgement, just real conversations, led by people who understand.

Whether the birth was recent or years ago, if something about it still doesn’t sit right with you, you’re welcome. You don’t have to have the words for it just turn up and listen if that’s all you feel able to do.

In the session, we explore:

  • What birth trauma can look and feel like for dads

  • How it can impact your mental health, relationships, and daily life

  • Why it’s often missed or dismissed

  • Hearing from other dads who’ve been there

  • What helps – from simple coping tools to where to get proper support

  • How to support your partner while still looking after yourself

We do this because dads matter. Your experience matters. And talking about it helps.

Some signs of birth trauma in dads might include:

  • Flashbacks or nightmares about the birth

  • Feeling constantly on edge or shutting off emotionally

  • Guilt, anger or shame about how things went

  • Struggling to sleep or eat properly

  • Avoiding anything that reminds you of the birth even conversations

  • Feeling distant from your baby or partner

  • Feeling low, anxious or like no one would understand

You’re not alone. And you don’t have to carry it on your own. This space is for you, come along and see if it helps.

You can book a place at the Zoom drop-in here.

Why Scott Mair Runs Birth Trauma Sessions for Dads

Scott Mair, founder of fatherhood solutions, started running birth trauma sessions after his own experience of feeling invisible and helpless during a traumatic birth. He knows what it’s like to carry the weight of it in silence and in Birth Trauma Association he found an organisation willing to collaborate and create support for dads.

These sessions are about giving dads a space to be heard, understood, and supported.
